Horses Are Measured in Hands, Not Feet

Horses Can Always Be Wanted
  and Loved

Hands-On-Horses® connects people and resources in Flagstaff, Arizona, and its surrounding areas to help unwanted horses. Our goal is to find ways to transport, feed, and provide medical care to the horses while locating for them a nurturing new home or suitable foster environment.

  • If you can no longer care for your horse, or know of a horse in need, we know how to help.

  • If you would like to own or foster a horse, including an Arabian or a Thoroughbred, please contact us at

  • When needed, we appreciate donations of transportation,
appropriate fencing materials, cinders, edible grasses, and wood and corrugated metal for shelters. We also may need food items such as hay and carrots. Please keep us in mind if you have an abundance of any of these items.

  • We gladly accept low-fat Chocolate-Chip Cookie Dough (CCCD)
    ice cream for the staff.

  • It is possible to acquire a horse from the Hands-On-Horses network at an extremely low purchasing price, depending on the circumstances from which the horse came; however, Hands-On-Horses carefully selects new homes and foster environments at our discretion on a case-by-case basis. We determine whether the horse can be properly cared for and nurtured based on the foster home's or new owner's needs, provisions, facilities, and intentions. Most importantly, we determine a horse's new environment based on the individual horse's needs.

  • The horses and we thank you.
